_________________________________________________ Completion of Grade 12 including Grade 12 English and courses in computer applications and business subjects, plus two years experience in a program support role, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.  Familiarity with student services (at VCC or a similar institution) including Admissions and Financial Aid.  Strong oral and written communication skills.  Strong customer service orientation.  Ability to respond patiently and politely to a large volume of over-the-counter and telephone inquiries, the majority of them from ESL speakers with limited English proficiency.  Able to speak fluent Cantonese and Mandarin, the language spoken by about 70% of clients and students in the ELSA Department. Ability to establish and maintain collegial working relationships with faculty, other support staff, and other College employees.  Minimum keyboarding speed 55 wpm.  Able to compose documents in MS Word, and do fairly large volumes of data entry accurately in Excel, MS Access and similar programs.  Strong organizational skills and ability to set timelines and work independently to meet them.
