AUSTIN, Texas – Oct. 18, 2017 – School administrators looking to improve their absence management strategy now have a new solution to help. TalentEd, the leader in talent management software for K-12 education, is launching Discover Analytics for SmartFind Express — the first step in delivering suite-wide K-12 talent management analytics. The company will demonstrate the new solution at the American Association of School Personnel Administrators (AASPA) conference this week.
Discover Analytics offers dashboards that highlight the most impactful, actionable insights on absence management for school administrators. Additionally, users of Discover Analytics will have access to consultative workshops to help them use district data and benchmarks to drive change management, process improvement, system optimization, and more.
Initially, Discover Analytics will include specific information for TalentEd SmartFind Express. In 2018, it will be available suite-wide for TalentEd’s Recruit & Hire and Develop & Retain solutions. TalentEd built Discover Analytics with data from more than five years of research in partnership with more than 20 districts across the U.S. and Canada.
“We delivered analytics for SmartFind Express first because we are focused on improving student outcomes and understand the value of having a quality teacher in every classroom,” said Nick Montgomery, chief research officer at TalentEd. “Low fill rates negatively impact student performance, and by using a predictive analytics solution to improve absence planning, school administrators can support student learning. This is an example of the mission-driven, actionable insights Discover Analytics delivers now, with much more to come in the near future.”
Discover Analytics uses TalentEd’s research-based content and visual analytics from Tableau to deliver insights that have already helped districts that beta tested the solution reduce and anticipate teacher absences, identify ideal substitute pool size, and improve substitute engagement. The solution will likewise deliver actionable information that empowers K-12 leaders to improve hiring quality and efficiency, and better align employee development needs with professional development opportunities next year.
“Data analytics through TalentEd and Tableau has become an essential resource in driving equitable and strategic substitute assignment practices,” said Stephan Gordon, workforce analytics manager at San Francisco Unified School District. “Without it, we would perhaps be perpetuating the systemic issues that cause poor coverage rates.”
